Rotary Club is today on the brink of eradicating
poliomyelitis, a contagious disease. Computer tycoon Bill Gates rightly said,
“If we all have the fortitude to see this effort through to the end, then we
WILL eradicate Polio!”
A Participant expresses his views on Polio Eradication of The world
It was the on bright sunny morning of 25th
September when we reached Doon International School, Dalanwaala . We were a
group of six students escorted by out teacher, Ms. Mona Randhawa. We were there
to take part in the Inter School Declaration Contest hosted by Rotary Club,
District 3080. The topic of discussion, stood as, “End Polio Now.” Our school
Head Boy, Nishant Andrews and Maittri Anand represented the school in the
competition.
Various schools of Dehradun took part in the competition
among which St. Judes School, Raja Ram Mohan Roy Academy, Brooklyn School were
prominent. Everyone put forward their views in their own unique way regarding
eradication of polio.The Interact Club of our school was awarded for the
service it rendered towards Rotary in eradicating polio. Our Club had raised Rs
One Lac, Fifty two thousand for the cause.
As long as polio threatens even a single child on the Earth
, children all around the globe remain at risk. The stakes are too high and the
need is YOUR involvement!
